What you are actually paying for

Anyone can pull a grip off and slide a new one on. The parts that matter — and the parts most shops skip when they are doing forty sets a week — are the ones either side of that.

Removal is done properly. Old tape comes off completely rather than getting a new layer stacked on top. Stacked tape is the single most common reason a set feels inconsistent: two clubs end up a wrap thicker than the rest and nobody knows why.

Size is a measurement, not a guess. Tell us your glove size and how you like the club to feel, or give us a wrap count if you already know it. We apply it identically to every club and record it, so next time you can say “same as last time” and mean it.

Alignment is checked twice. Once in the vise, and again with the club soled at address — because those are not always the same thing, and the second one is the one you look at.

Swing weight is measured before and after. A full-set grip change can move swing weight by two or three points. We tell you when it does instead of letting you find out on the course.

What it costs

The price includes the grip. There is no separate charge for the grip and then another for fitting it — pick a tier, and that is what the job costs.

A full set works out cheaper per club than a single wedge, because the bench setup is the same either way. If you supply your own grips we fit them for $3.75 a club instead.
